13 Rules of 'The Black Veil'

1. Discretion

You're lifestyle is private and sacred. Do not show off what you are. You do not have to prove yourself to anyone. Going on some public place and announcing you drink blood would not get you anywhere and would just put a negative thought on the Vampyre community. The best place for us is in the shadows as this is the only protection we have from the public. Do not deny what you are, because it is in you're nature, just dont boast about it to people

2.Diversity

Everyones paths are different, although it is essentially the same. Not one person has all the answers to who or what exactly we are, and why we are like this. Respect everyones views. We cannot let differences depart the community because  there are people willing to do that that are not a part of the Vampyre community.

3.Safety

Do not boast what you are to everyone and when you feed, do it in private and make sure that the donor is descrete and wont tell anyone because donors who create chaos and rumors is not worth it. If you get involved in a blood-letting activity, make sure you put all safety precausions first. Watch you're donors, make sure they are healthy physically and mentally

4.Control

We shouldn't deny what we are, yet, we shouldnt let it overtake us and control us. If you go on one side more, it could cloud you're judgement and be a danger to you're loved ones. Never take part in violence and never hurt those [donors] who help you. Never feed because you want to or just blood-lust. We are not danger, we are capable of self control.

5.Lifestyle

Life you're life as an example to others in the community. We are lucky to be what we are, the power should come with dignity and responsibility. You may explore you're nature. But you have to remember that even though we may be Vampires, we are still apart of the world we live in so therefore we must live lives like everyone else which includes working at jobs and owning homes and polite manners with our neighbours.

6.Family

We are all as a community, a family and like most familes on Earth, some family members do not get on very well, but don't let that little argument between the two of you bring strife to the community as a whole. Settle them on you're own and try not to include others. Never anounce you're disputes to others or in public places and do not make family members take sides.

7. Havens

Our havens are safe places where everyone in the community are allowed to go to socialize with others. But there are other places where we may encounter other people who do not understand us. Respect these places and those people and dont be obvious with out behaviour. Never bring private arguments into the haven and never bring or do anything illegal in the haven neither nor commit violence. This would give the haven a bad name. Respect the haven and treat it well so you could even call it home.

8.Territory

The community is diverse. Every city has different ways of doing things and have different rules. When you go to a new city, you should get to know the local community and look out for local havens and get in touch with the key members of the community, give respect and learn who is who. You shouldn't by all means do things they way you used to do it in the new city, you need to adapt and be on you're best behaviour because they could of easily rejected you from the community.

9. Responsibility

The lifestyle you may follow may not be for everybody, so choose wisely of who you bring into it. The people who are emotially or mentially unstable have no place among us. They may be dangerous and untrustable and could betray you so make sure those who you chose to bring in are mature enough. Teach them discretion and control and be sure that they would respect our ways. You are responsible for their actions therefore if they do something wrong, you will get the blame

10.Elders

There are certain amount of people in a community who consider themselves trustworthy leaders. These people help the communities by organizing havens, and to coordanite the network of the place. If they say something, even though they do not speak of the law, they should be respected because they have greater experience than most in the community. If you have a dispute, seek out the elders to settle it, they give you instructions and guidance. Respect them because if it wasnt for them, communities wouldn't work as they do now'a'days.

11.Donors

If it wasnt for donors, we would be nothing. We couldnt be different than what we are, but it is the donors who make us who we are. Because of this, they should be respected. Never mistreat them mentally or physically. They also cannot be fed off for more that they offer so never take them for granted. Appreciate them for the acceptance that they give us which alot of people refuse.

12.Leadership

When you choose to join the community, remember you do not just set example for yourself.  Leadership is a responsibility. A responsible leader sets a good example to the others int eh community through his behaviour and actions. He should put the interests before his own. The best leaders are those who try their best to make the community better and even those who criticize them [who are outside the community]

13.Ideals

Being a Vampire doesnt just mean feeding from life. It may be what we do, but not what we are. It is our responsibility to represent the darkness. We are about the difference in the world and accepting that we are different, so we are very unique. We are about accepting the darkness within us. We should live our lives as a message to the world about accepting the whole self, of living withought guilt or shame but instead celebrating the unique essence of every soul in the world.
